"The Spirit
Lives On..."
"The Origin of "OSOB" Products"
Founded in 1966
Terri Marie, "Little Cherokee" passed away in 1991, very quickly & unexpected, from cancer. Thus our company slogan became "The Spirit Lives On"... She was a full blooded Cherokee from Oklahoma. Ron's father, a full blooded Cherokee from North Carolina and mother of French & English decent, welcomed him into their lives in July, 1941. They gave him the name of Ron. At the tender age of 5, Ron was recognized by the Elders as "special", and therein was initiated in the sacred teachings of his people.
The origin of the name "OSOB" was given to him by the Elders. The meaning of which is "The One of Endurance", which has prepared him to become a teacher among the "People". "OSOB" has had a deep affiliation with the "People", (as he fondly likes to refer to the Cherokee Nation).
"OSOB" came to Lake Tahoe to fullfill the wish of his wife Terri Marie (a full blood Cherokee descendent from the original "Trail of Tears" migration to Oklahoma Territory). Lake Tahoe was a very sacred place for "OSOB" and "Little Cherokee", and upon her death from cancer in 1991, she wished to have her ashes scattered within the Tahoe Basin. Honering her wishes, "OSOB" has remained here and has applied his life work in the art products that bear his name.
It is plain to see the attention and care that goes into even the most simple of pieces that "OSOB" creates. Refusing to abandon authenticity and natural materials in his products, you can be sure that every "OSOB" product is true to the spirit and beauty of what is sacred to the "People".
Enjoy "OSOB" products in the spirit that is intended, and may you receive the teachings of the "People" in every piece.
